A Commitment to Safe & Equitable Space

The North Village Collective acknowledges that we live and work within systems that have historically caused—and continue to cause—profound systemic harm. We recognize the realities of racism and white supremacy, and the specific, ongoing trauma inflicted upon People of Colour, and especially upon Indigenous and First Nations folks within our community.

We are actively and intentionally working to ensure that our Village does not replicate these systems of oppression.

Safety & Advocacy: Our safety protocols (including the limits of confidentiality) are held with an understanding of how institutional systems have historically impacted marginalized families. We approach every situation with the goal of providing support that is culturally safe, restorative, and grounded in the preservation of the family unit whenever possible.Privacy, Confidentiality & Our Commitment to Safety

The Circle of Trust is an Anti-Oppressive Space: We are committed to unlearning harmful biases and creating an environment where the lived experiences of all parents are honored without the weight of systemic judgment.

At The North Village Collective, we believe that trust is the foundation of a true village. This policy outlines how we protect your stories, your data, and your safety within our circle of trust.

1. Our Commitment to Equity & Anti-Oppression

We acknowledge that we live and work within systems that have historically caused—and continue to cause—profound systemic harm. We recognize the realities of racism and white supremacy, and the specific, ongoing trauma inflicted upon People of Colour, and especially upon Indigenous and First Nations folks.

We are actively working to ensure that The North Village Collective does not replicate these systems of oppression. We are committed to unlearning harmful biases and creating an environment where the lived experiences of all parents are honored without the weight of systemic judgment.

2. Confidentiality: The Circle of Trust

We operate on a professional peer-support model. What is shared within our weekly circles, cohorts, and digital spaces stays within those spaces.

The Boundary of Safety:

Confidentiality is absolute, with one critical exception: Safety. If there is a significant concern for the immediate safety of a parent or a child, outside resources may need to be contacted.

Our Restorative Approach to Safety:

We understand that for many marginalized communities, “outside resources” and institutional systems have historically been sources of harm rather than help. Because of this:

  • Transparency First: If a safety concern arises, I will do my absolute best to discuss this with you directly before taking any outside action.
  • Minimizing Harm: Our goal is to provide support that is culturally safe and grounded in the preservation of the family unit. Information will only be shared within a minimal “circle of trust” necessary to ensure safety.
  • Supportive Advocacy: If an outside resource must be involved, I am committed to walking alongside you to help navigate that system as an advocate, not just an observer.

3. Digital Privacy & Data

We only collect the information necessary to provide you with a seamless community experience.

  • Your Information: We collect your name, email, and registration details to manage your membership. We will never sell or share your personal data with third-party marketers.
  • Secure Payments: Payment information is processed securely through our third-party provider. We do not store your credit card details locally.
  • Digital Spaces: Our Zoom circles are never recorded. While our Discord is a private space for members, we encourage everyone to share mindfully, as digital platforms carry inherent risks.

Your Rights

You have the right to access the personal information we have on file or request the deletion of your data upon leaving the Collective.
