Grounded, peer-led virtual support circles and 1-on-1 connections for modern parents.
No parenting lectures or unsolicited advice here—just space to be yourself, exactly as you are.
You brought a baby home, but you’re wondering where you went in the middle of it all—and why this part feels so hard.

The North Village Collective is a virtual, peer-led community rooted right here in Edmonton—built to welcome parents from across Alberta, Canada, and beyond. Wherever you’re joining from, I provide the steady ground you need to navigate the messy uncertainty of early parenthood, helping you move out of isolation and into a space of deep, lasting connection.
Whether you are navigating the disorienting first weeks or the complex shifts of the first years, this is more than just a place to talk—it is a place for you to truly belong.
“Thank you for listening, I needed that” – Anonymous
Why the Collective is Different:
- Professionally Held Spaces: Unlike a casual playgroup, our circles are held by an experienced peer supporter. I ensure the environment remains safe, soft, and entirely focused on your well-being.
- Connection Without the Small Talk: We bypass the expert lectures and unsolicited advice to make room for what actually matters: honest stories and real human connection.
- Find Your Village: This is where you meet the people who get it. I provide the space so that you can focus on finding the friends who will walk this journey with you.
Come as you are.
Messy hair, crying baby, pjs and all. We have a seat saved for you.
Not sure where to start? Try a free summer drop-in session first. Come as you are—pyjamas, exhausted, muted video, baby on your lap and all.

The Reality Check
You’ve got the gadgets, the gear, the swaddles, and three different tracking apps running at once. You’ve been handed endless advice on how you’re supposed to feel, how you’re supposed to cope, and how to optimize every single nap.
But when the house is pitch black at 3:00 AM—or when a loud, overstimulating afternoon makes your nervous system want to completely throw in the towel—the “shoulds” don’t help.
Here’s the truth:
You just need a gentle landing, a place to talk.
You don’t need more instructions. (You’ve possibly read all the manuals.)
You don’t need another opinion. (Everyone already gave you theirs.)

Hi! I’m Kara
I believe we all need space where we can feel brave, and share the pieces that are hardest.
I am building The North Village Collective on one basic truth: you’re not doing it wrong, and you don’t need to be fixed.
Bringing a baby home is a wild mix of emotions. One minute it’s pure magic, and the next you’re staring at the ceiling at 3:00 AM wondering who you even are anymore (and if you’ll ever sleep again). It’s a massive plot twist, and you shouldn’t have to go through it alone.
As a trained perinatal peer supporter in Canada, I created this online space for parents across Alberta, across Canada—and even further afield if this speaks to you.
This is a space to be brave and an advice-free zone where:
- Bad days can just be bad: Nobody is going to hit you with a lecture about how you need to “enjoy every single moment.”
- You don’t have to be “fine”: Say the quiet parts out loud—the loneliness, the brain fog, the melt downs, and rage—and just get a knowing nod from people who actually get it.
- No one is grading you: Zero judgment, zero unsolicited advice, and zero pressure to have it all together. Just a soft place to land in your comfiest pants.
“Honestly, I didn’t realize how much I needed this until I joined. No one tried to fix my problems—they just listened. I felt so much lighter after.“
