Financial Accessibility & Community Investment
At The North Village Collective, we believe that support should be accessible and that a true village looks out for one another. New parenthood brings massive identity transitions, and financial stress shouldn’t stand in the way of finding a safe, compassionate space to land.
To keep our circles sustainable while ensuring no parent is left behind, we operate on a Community-Supported Pricing model. This is a intentional choice rooted in mutual aid and collective care—it’s about looking out for each other, not about charity.
Our Sliding Scale Tiers
We offer a tiered contribution scale for our in-person cohorts, virtual circles, and one-on-one sessions. We trust you to choose the rate that honestly reflects your life and budget right now.
- The Sustainer Rate Choose this tier if you are financially secure and have the wiggle room to pay the full cost. This rate directly chips in to support and subsidize another parent in our village.
- The Standard Rate Choose this tier if you can comfortably cover your own seat at the table.
- The Supported Rate Choose this tier if you are navigating financial hardship, tight budgets, or systemic barriers.
No questions asked, no proof required. Simply select the tier that feels right for you when you register.
A Stretch vs. A Barrier
When you are deciding which tier feels right for you, we invite you to look at the difference between a stretch and a barrier.
- A Stretch: This means that paying the full rate might feel a bit “tight” this month. You might need to be more intentional with your spending or re-allocate your “extras” budget to make it happen. It’s an investment that requires a bit of a reach, but it doesn’t change your overall security or your ability to cover the essentials.
- A Barrier: This means that the standard rate would be a true obstacle to you getting the support you need. If paying the full fee would mean struggling to cover your groceries, rent, or utilities, that is a barrier—and we don’t want it to exist. In this case, please use the supported tier so the village can do exactly what it’s meant to: hold you up.
Which Tier matches your season?
| The Sustainer Tier | The Standard Tier | The Supported Tier |
| “I can hold the door open.” | “I’m standing steady.” | “I need the village to lean on.” |
| I am comfortably meeting my basic needs and have stable housing. | I meet my basic needs but have little expendable income. | I frequently feel the weight of meeting basic needs like food or rent. |
| I have a financial safety net or access to family wealth. | I have some debt, but it doesn’t prevent me from accessing essentials. | I have no access to savings or family financial support. |
| I can afford an annual vacation and regular “wants.” | Paying the full rate would be a stretch, but a manageable one. | Paying the full rate would be a barrier to my participation. |
| This rate covers your spot and fuels our Access Fund. | This rate covers the direct cost of your participation. | This rate is subsidized by the village for those who need it. |
Community Investment: Paying It Forward
If you are in a stable financial position and want to deepen your impact, you can make a direct Community Investment.
When you choose to contribute above the standard rate, or fund a dedicated “Village Seat” for an anonymous parent, your contribution goes straight into our community care pool. This pool keeps our Free Tier digital memberships open, helps cover the costs of our local Edmonton spaces, and ensures that our peer-led support stays resilient and accessible to everyone who needs it.
By investing in the village, you are helping us build a cozy, reliable space where every parent has a seat waiting for them, no matter what their financial landscape looks like.
Even our lowest tier feels completely out of reach right now? Please don’t walk away. We have fully sponsored seats waiting for you through our community care pool.
Let’s build this village together.
Whether you are paying it forward as a Sustainer, covering your own seat at the Standard rate, or accessing our community care pool—you belong at this table. Choose the path that lets you show up fully today, and let’s take care of each other.
